Day 1 — Iliniza Norte Summit

Depart Quito at 6:30 AM to La Virgen trailhead at 3,900m. Begin a 6-hour ascent through paramo to the North Peak summit at 5,126m. Crampons may be required depending on snow conditions. The descent takes approximately 3 hours back to the trailhead.

  • 6 hours ascent / 3 hours descent
  • Crampons needed if snow present
  • 8th highest peak in Ecuador
