Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 24, 2026
1. General Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the website condortrekkexpeditions.com and the services provided by Condortrekk Expedition S.A. (RUC: 1791892712001), a company registered in Quito, Ecuador. By using our website or booking our services, you agree to these terms.
2. Booking and Reservations
Tour reservations can be made through our website via WeTravel, by email, phone, or WhatsApp. A booking is confirmed only after receipt of the required deposit or full payment. Prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) and include all taxes applicable under Ecuadorian law unless otherwise stated.
3. Payment Terms
We accept payments through WeTravel (for tour reservations), Payphone (for equipment purchases and local payments), and direct bank transfer. For tours requiring a deposit, the remaining balance must be paid at least 7 days before the tour start date. Failure to pay the balance may result in cancellation of the booking.
4. Cancellation Policy — No Refund
4.1 Cancellation by the Client
All confirmed bookings at Condortrekk Expeditions are non-refundable. Once your reservation is confirmed and payment has been received, the amount paid will not be returned under any circumstances, including (but not limited to) personal cancellations, change of plans, illness, missed flights or no-shows. We strongly recommend rescheduling instead — see section 4.3.
4.2 Cancellation by Condortrekk
We reserve the right to cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, volcanic activity, government restrictions, insufficient participants, or safety concerns determined by our guides. In such cases, clients will receive a full credit valid for 12 months or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
4.3 Rescheduling
Subject to availability, your booking can be moved to a future date:
- More than 14 days before departure — one free date change.
- 7 – 14 days before departure — rescheduling allowed with a US$ 25 administration fee per person.
- Less than 7 days before departure — rescheduling subject to availability and may incur additional logistics fees.
Rescheduled bookings remain valid for 12 months from the original departure date.
4.4 Travel Insurance Strongly Recommended
Because cancellations are non-refundable, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation and lost equipment before your departure date.
4.5 Equipment Rental Returns
Rented equipment must be returned in the same condition it was received. Damaged or lost equipment will be charged at replacement cost. Late returns may incur additional daily rental fees.
5. Health and Safety
Participants must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations before the tour. Our guides reserve the right to deny participation if a client's health condition poses a risk to themselves or the group. High-altitude tours require adequate physical fitness and acclimatization. We recommend consulting a physician before booking technical climbing expeditions above 5,000 meters.
6. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all participants obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and climbing activities, emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellation and interruption, and personal accident and liability. Condortrekk Expedition S.A. is not responsible for medical expenses or evacuation costs not covered by insurance.
7. Liability
While we take every precaution to ensure safety, mountain activities involve inherent risks. Condortrekk Expedition S.A. shall not be liable for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from natural events or force majeure, participant negligence or failure to follow guide instructions, pre-existing medical conditions, or third-party services (airlines, hotels, transport providers).
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and designs, is the property of Condortrekk Expedition S.A. or used under license. Reproduction without written permission is prohibited. Photos taken during tours by our guides may be used for promotional purposes unless the participant explicitly opts out.
9. Changes to Itinerary
Tour itineraries are subject to change due to weather, trail conditions, or safety requirements. Our guides will make every effort to provide equivalent alternatives. Minor itinerary changes do not entitle participants to refunds.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Quito, Pichincha Province, Ecuador.
