Day 1 β Cotopaxi National Park
Departure from Quito in private transport to Cotopaxi National Park, home of one of the highest active volcanoes in the world (5,897m).- Pickup from your hotel in Quito (7:30 AM)
- Drive to the Cotopaxi National Park entrance
- Visit Limpiopungo Lagoon at 3,800m
- Hike up to the Refuge JosΓ© Rivas at 4,800m (optional: Yellow-flag parking lot at 4,500m)
- Option to hike up to the glacier at 5,000m (weather permitting)
- Box lunch at scenic viewpoint
- Return to Quito by evening
